ap2 retainers
is there any benifit to getting the ap2 retainers if i havent mechanicly over-reved, from what i understand it will give me more room to be safe if i do over-rev and not crack a retainer. it looks like a tough job to do is it worth it if I havent overreved?

AP1 retainers have been known to crack in very rare cases even when the owner swears no over-rev ever occurred.. they just simply aren't very strong.
But with that said, I don't think I'd spend the time to swap them out just because.
With AP1 retainers, you should inspect the retainers after an over-rev, and again in 5k miles. If there is no sign of damage after 5k, you should be in the clear, but I would suggest checking a third time 25-30k later because they've been known to survive that long before ultimately failing.
With AP2 retainers, if they pass the initial inspection, you are in the clear. I do not know of a single case of an AP2 retainer failing after the fact.. they either crack during the initial stress, or they don't crack at all.
