its an extremely simple swap. everything bolts right up as long as its an ap2 built between 04-05, 06+ is a different story due to dbw. I have been running a 05 f22 with my 00ap1 harness, ecu, etc.

My setup is just the F22, everything else is AP1. I've gone to 9k many times. Although people will argue if that is safe or not does it really matter? Any car nearing red line = death IMO. LOL...

Ha thanks for the video Rob.Ok I for some reason didnt see it before. What about changing the diff?
And to Boost and 00wrecked was it worth the money for the swap? As in increase of power to cost spend on the swap?

If you want the ultimate NA car then you need a stroked motor, AP1 tranny, and 4.4 or 4.5 gears (FI cars like the 4.1 or higher final drive).
If I were you, I'd pick up an AP2 short block and just use your AP1 head (as long as its ok...if its not just throw the AP1 cams in the new motor). Then if you have enough left over get a stand alone EMS or a good piggy back and go get it tuned. 2.2L with AP1 cams and a good tune can produce some pretty respectable numbers. You can lower VTEC to around 4-5K and rise the rev limiter to 8400. That is basically what I'm doing with my car but I'm trying to maximize things a little bit more (in fact I'm running the spoon kit from the video and should make a little bit more power).
Honda was right....its not the horse power or the top end that makes the 2.2L the better motor. Its the torque curve. Its only about $500 more to go to a 2.2L and well worth it IMO.

i'm running an f22 longblock in my ap1, with ap1 trans and flywheel, but with 4.44's. would an ap2 trans make me faster?
IMO the gears are just too short. You'll spend more time shifting and in between gears than you might like. The higher (9k) of the AP1 could make better use of the short gears.
