On that grey connector, you could remove the grey connector from wires and leave the connections connected. They will slip into the other grey connector.

Looks like for every wire color on the grey (AP1) connector, there is a corresponding matching wire on the white (AP2) connector. Is it possible that the extra wires in the AP2 harness are just for additional features of the AP2 cluster? I think I'm going to try and connect what I can and see how it comes out.

Anyone know if I can just put the connectors to the gauge cluster on the AP2 harness on the AP1 harness?
I haven't checked to see if the number of wires and colors correlate, but it's an idea. Seems to be the easiest work around.
