I have an AP2 clutch on my AP1. My AP1 stock clutch and my Hyper Single race clutch both had buzz. The hyper single had a LOT more buzz (because race clutch?).
My Genuine Honda AP2 clutch buzzes...but not loudly. This is after like 29k miles worth of track and street driving. My friend and I installed the clutch. So the install was done absolutely perfectly.
It does it more at lower RPM's during decel.

The springs being loose may or may not cause buzz. Springs all get loose over time. Unfortunately, its hard to tell. A new disk probably isn't expensive.

Sorry for reviving this old thread. Just want to know for those with AP2's that you think you have the clutch buzz, how did it turn out? Did you choose just to live with it? Or did you end up replacing the clutch/bearings?
I'm very interested in finding out what you did to solve the problem, as my 07 has recently developed a similar symptom. My thread here: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/114...-deceleration/
My issue mostly happens on a fully warmed up car (10 miles freeway driving), noise came from decel going down from 70mph+ to 60mph. Noise seems to be speed dependent. If I rev up to 4000 - 5000 RPM (70mph RPM) in 2nd/3rd/4th, I won't hear the noise. It's noticeable in 5th doing 70mph, and very audible in 6th. I tried recording it, but it can't be picked up on freeway speed.

04 AP2 here. Just wanted to add that I'm having more or less the same symptoms, but have buzzing instead of whining. Mostly happens from 3-4k rpm on decel after a few miles of highway driving. Would love to know if this can be fixed by replacing the clutch disc, or any other solutions.

I have an unmodified '05 car with the same symptoms. It only seems to rattle when the car is warmed up, and only when I let off the throttle in gear from about 4000 rpm or more. It does not rattle while cruising or idling. I'm reasonably sure that the clutch has never been replaced, and to my knowledge the car has never seen a track day. Is it anything which urgently needs sorting out?

Unless your ap2 has an aftermarket clutch disk, which is a distinct possibility, the buzz you are hearing is not clutch buzz.
There are a lot of other things that can cause such a buzzing noise, that could easily be mistaken for clutch buzz. Among them:
Exhaust heat shield
Broken cat internals
Loose exhaust tip
Loose diff yoke nut
Worn prop shaft cv joints
Improperly mounted or cracked header to trans S shaped mounting bracket
Loose fuel filler neck to tank mount
Loose battery heat shield
