AP2 burning oil

AP2 burning oil
On my third ap2 and this one burns a bit of oil. It's at 107k miles (2007) and I always change the oil with Amsoil signature and OEM filter when the maintenance minder says so. It does get dailied in DC-area traffic about 60 miles a day round trip about half of which is in stop and go. Valve adjustment is done annually and I clean PCV about every year. I'm burning a bit less than 2 qts between changes which is around 7500 miles. Nothing terrible, but neither of my previous AP2s burned any oil. I usually order 6 qts and I end up topping up with all 6 before the next change and usually down to about half a qt below top mark when I change the oil.
Anything I should be checking or should this be chalked up to normal Honda things with stop and go and 100k on the motor?

FWIW i have 98K on my '06 and it doesn't hardly burn/lose any oil with exception of what's lost on track to the catch can so I would not suspect it to be "normal" for 107K miles either.

How clean is the TB plate, check its clean from oil, also throttle plate bleeds hole.

My '06 3 season dd has 135k miles, and uses maybe half a quart between maintenance minder based oil changes.
Something seems wrong for this much consumption on an otherwise healthy ap2.

I have not done any compression or leakdown testing, kinda afraid to. I cleaned the TB plate when I got the car and I doubt it was ever cleaned before, I'll take a look again. Where can I find the plate bleed holes?
Again, its not a lot of consumption, but seems to be on the high side of what I've seen from other AP2 owners and from my own personal experience in the past.

So my 04 uses no oil, period. I also cannot ever put more than 5.5 quarts in the car at time of change. Seems like a silly question, but are you putting too much oil in your car and it's burning off?

I doubt I've ever put more than 5.25 in. I typically put 5 qts in, run the engine for a bit and then top off, never more than an X or 2 to top off.

All holes in the venturi.if not done already, remove TB and clean it.
