AP2 axles longer?

It has the other flanges on it and is a little different diameter. I don't it weighs the same either.
At least that's what I thought I noticed when I switched out.

In an ap2 tranny the secondary reduction gear is 1.6 compared to 1.25 in an ap1.
both 5th and 6th gear are a little higher 1 thru 4 ratios remain the same.
Ive been told it will feel like you installed a set of 444's in an ap1

i should've been more clear...
i understand the ap2 transmission ratios, what i meant was the alleged improvements of upgrading to the ap2 driveshaft....

I'm assuming that some of it has to do with protecting the differential a bit more. I don't know for sure. Other than a tempering change in the differential housing, they are identical.
I don't think the change is enough to make a rotational weight difference of any consequence.
I'm not sure about honda prop shafts but many drive shafts are balanced to the differential and marked accordingly (sometimes with yellow chaulk)
