Default AP2 2nd gear grinding MY06, Anyone else ?

I know this is a problem (TSB) in the AP1's, but AP2 ?

I first experienced this when the car only had ~ 5k miles on it (now has 28k). Seems to happen when I'm accelerating hard in first, clutch, shift. griiiiind!! Literally scares me it sounds so bad.
Since it first happened, it's almost hindered any attempt to rev out 1st gear beacuse I'm afraid of grinding 2nd into a pulp.

Today while at a meet with my local S2k guys it happened 3 times... we were doing some spirited runs

I do seem to be depressing the clutch entirely to the floor, as I've seen people mention this in other gear grinding threads.
I really do not beat on my car, but like most of us, get the itch to have have some fun every now and then.

Should I take it to Honda and let them replace something ? (not sure if it's a syncho issue or what?)
I'm just afraid if I don't do soemthing about it now I'll have trouble when the car goes out of warranty.

Any advice ?

(FYI, Tranny and diff fluid changed @18k miles; Honda new MTF/LE607)

thanks in advance,
- Andy

Check the clutch fluid, make sure its clean. If its not flush it out. When I first drove the S I got the same thing. MAJOR grind going into 2nd when powershifting. I learned to give the S a small delay before shifting to two. I came from a car that I could just pretty much bang into gears barely clutching, so it was new for me too. Just do a few runs and make an effort to 'delay' hitting 2nd. After a while it'll be natural.

if it only happens in the morning when you're first starting the car, then it's normal. Ease it/feel it into 2nd gear, or skip it and shift to 3rd until your tranny is warmed up/properly lubricated

No this is morning issue, as a matter of fact it has never happened in the morning (cold start). If I ever do any heavy acceleration in the a.m. it's only from 2nd gear and up, never from first.

<<<<<<<<< trust me I thought I was the only one for while until i had others agree with me.

I've owned a dozen manuals before and this is the only car when shifted fast enough that second gear can reject you from entering.

happens every now and then but can be embarrassing .

Changing the fluid and rebleeding the clutch did not help.

It is worth changing the fluid but it sure sounds like a worn syncro problem.

I've owned and driven plenty myself (manuals), and the only other car that had an issue was my 01 Integra GS-R third gear grinded occasionally.

I'm afraid with as many times as it has happened in my S i've done some damage. Should I see if the dealer will replace the 2nd gear Synchro ?

I get the same thing, been driving manuals for over 15 years.

I solved it by getting a supercharger and slowing down on the shift change

Happened to me at lunch... Since it happened multiple times yesterday I've been paying close attention to my shift patterns and timing... seeing what makes it happen, and what does not..

One thing I can relate is how fast I shift (like others have implied). I'm typicall a quick shifter, but I noticed, there has not been a grind today while shifting slower.

unfortunately, gotta rev match the 2nd gear to avoid the grind.
