Ap1 Transmission feels stuck in gear for a second, after holding the clutch
This is I think my first post in "Under the hood" section. I have a problem with the clutch/transmission of my 01, 67k miles ODO.
When I am driving the car, and I slow down, hold the clutch all the way in, and want to downshift? It feels like the gear is stuck for 1-1.5 seconds, then I it lets go and I can downshift.
What can be the cause for this? Air in system? Btw clutch does not slip at all.
Thanks in advance guys

Well.. I wouldn't worry too much.. Do some simple services first to see if it helps.
1st - Remove the play from clutch (search on forum how to remove play from rod)
2nd - Flush and replace clutch fluid with new Honda fluid.
3rd - Flush and replace transmission fluid.
I'd imagine there be a difference at that point. Specially with removing play and changing the clutch fluid. Might have air

If that doesn work, you have a broken disc or a rusted spline, guaranteed.

Mine does this sometimes too, i just chalk it up to common occurance in a 12 yr old car (in my case) not a big issue for me, im sure i will need a new reservoir, clutch, and fluid in a few yrs, its a car not a peice of jewelry

The master has a built in freeplay in the master piston. This must remain.
The rod itself has slop from the factory. this can and should be removed.

In my AP1 i adjusted the clutch as perfect as i good, had fresh transmission fluid and clutch fluid and sometimes 2nd gear would grind if i was a little aggressive.
IF I grinded 2nd gear... it would be extremely hard to shift into it for a period of time after that, and taking it in and out of 2nd gear would be a chore, it would get stuck.
I'm sure it was f@#ked up, but i sold the car and as long as you didn't try to basically no lift shift into 2nd it wouldn't really grind.

That happens to mine too. I kick in the clutch, give it just a tiny bit of gas then it pops out of gear really easily. I've adjusted my clutch too and still happens. So every time I just give it a tiny bit of gas.

Thanks for the reply guys, appreciate the quick responses. I also do the blip of throttle trick, and it works with no problems. But a perfectionist that i am, it worries me
But took it to Gavin in Infinite Motion, San Marcos today. He test drove the car, fortunately this problem, and everything else wasn't any big issue. He said it's time for new trans fluid. And i will be doing a whole fluid refresh next week hopefully so that should hopefully get it fixed.
i will update this once, I do that.

Its inevitable it seems. Everyone experiences it. Next week or so I am getting my fluids changed, stock clutch disc, and mine already has the play removed. Still does it, will report after fluid changes
