I actually use vacuums and some other goofy shit to not have this issue. I'm fortunate that I have a number of good tools on hand due racing (different vehicle).

Have you adjusted the clutch pedal itself? Wheres the engagement point? theres a locking nut on the rod which you can loosen and then change the free play etc. Just a thought.

If that is a true exedy clutch kit, then yes, its legit. My exedy OEM replacement came stamped with HONDA all over it. I am under the assumption that Exedy makes the Honda OEM clutch parts.
