Default ap1 S2k no start, no crank

Hey guys, my car suddenly stopped starting. no crank, no reaction at all when pressing the start button

story: driving fine, took it to smog guy. he unlocked the car using the key. then started the car to the smog station, smogged it, then let me drive off. i was driving off and the car just stalled, all lights normal stall, when i was leaving the parking lot. tried to restart, dead.

no clicking, no cranking, no light dimming.
gas was kinda low only 2 ticks left, so i had my brother come with a gas can. no go

push start it and took it to my uncle shop. he tested starter, starter wires. all fired right up.
new battery, still no go

so far what ive tested/checked:
starter
battery
all fuses
start button (my neighbor has an s2k, i tried with his)
shorted clutch lock
green key goes away when i put my key in

any ideas?

Just a shot in the dark.. Clutch safety switch? If it breaks it won't relay the message that you're pressing the clutch to start the car...

He can push start it, and jump start it, I'm guessing try a known working ECU.

ask your local forum if anyone would be willing to swap. Lots of people get stand alones and have spare ecu they'd be willing to sell ya, usually for less than $100 of course you'll have to re-program your key, but sometimes you gotta deal.

Check fuses 3 & 21 & 46 in the underhood fuse box

Also check ground G401. It's a 10mm bolt with a bunch of ground wires hooked to it under the left side of the dash near the fuse box.

Fuse 46 also powers the DLC, ECM and some ignition related components. The DLC (data link connector) was probably plugged into at smog I assume. Perhaps you/they have a bent pin in that connector which could pop various fuses.

Also find someone with a scan tool and hook it up to check for DTCs. If it's a nice scan tool you should be able to watch the ECM commanding various systems/parts of your car on and off like the starter signal.
