That is what I was thinking. Either you got a AP2 ecu or mabie they flashed it with an AP2 flash, I am not sure if that would happen but if it is hitting a rev limiter at 8k than that is an ECU problem. If it just runs out of power at 8k than that is a timing or valve issue.

redline in 6th gear..damn lol i dont think ive done that when my car was normal..im really thinking that it might be the values and timing or hoping so.

where would they have sourced an AP2 ecu from ? What purpose would they have for putting it on?

Me neither.. but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. We really need to know what happens at 8k before anything even resembling a conclusive response can be given. Hitting the fuel cut is a pretty recognizable feeling.
