Agreed! Broke my '03 in with varying RPMs and engine braking to seat the rings. Used Dino oil with a Moly additive for the first oil change, and then switched to synthetic. 10 years of heavy autocross use and I can go 6K miles between oil changes without adding oil.

My car 'burns' 1qt every 2k miles. With krankvents, I burned 0 oil. Without them, I'm back to 1qt/2k. Points to it all being re-circulated through the intake. I don't see how this could point to improper break in.
