Ap1 oil lose

Ap1 oil lose
I finally got around to changing the o-ring on the bolt for the top timing sprocket so that's no longer leaking.
I was hoping that was where all my oil is going but im still losing a little somewhere.
So my question is how much oil use is normal for an Ap1 with 105k miles on it, ive only had it for 2 years and was bought from a dealer so have no clue how previous owners treated it. However it does seem to pull very well and has no problem running hard.
Also oil check is done the morning after driving so its completely cold.
thanks for input

If you search you will find a wide variety of responses on AP1 oil consumption... anywhere from none to over a quart every 1000 miles. It depends upon load, revs, etc. Mine uses a quart every 1500 to 2000 miles.

1 quart every 1,700-2,000mi here, and that's after a bottom end rebuild.

As noted you will get a variety of answers. Early owners recognized that break in was key to properly seating the oil rings with the cylinder liners. Many were abused at the dealer in their early life. But if you got a virgin, ran the magic "Honda break-in oil" for the requisite period without over-revving, used Castrol Dino Oil for an extra 500 miles ( so the molybdenum would continue to seal up the minor flaws of manufacture); then switched to Mobile 1........you will not burn a drop. Ask me how I know (2001 Original Owner). I read these posts and simply can't relate.
The manual says check the oil at every fill up so Honda Engineering must have seen the same early abuse = more oil phenomenon.

Thanks for all the input on this. Think I just went down one diamond on the dip stick in about 100 miles.
My driveway is slightly nose up so this could be messing with it too.
I check my oil every morning after I drive it, am I just being too paranoid?

Too paranoid if you ask me ! I check it about every second time I fill her up with gas. My AP1 LOVES visiting Vtec, and whenever she gets to vtec she sips oil. Seems as its fairly normal. I acctually tried driving with her slowly, cruising along, and my oil consumption went down. But she allways want to party in vtec, so ill just keep giving her oil.
Some people report that changing brand of oil might reduce oil consumption? Or that changing pcv valve will help? Im going to try both this month

Yep...proper break-in is a good thing.Bought my 03 new,ran the factory fill as recommended and switched over to Amsoil since then.96k miles later...never add oil between changes( 5k).
Currently run Amsoil 0w30.

Daily is a bit paranoid. Every fill up until you know what the car is doing. One more S2000 oddity you should be aware of. The dipstick reads differently from one side to the other. Never read a good explanation for it but general rule is to use the lower of the two readings.

If the care isn't level, you're not going to get an accurate read.
When I got mine, it was sipping dino oil at a decent rate (can't remember the exact amount). Since switching to Castrol Edge (formerly known as Syntec), I may have to top it off twice between changes (5,000 miles, and I'm only adding around 1/4 quart each time).
I don't know what it is about this specific oil, but my car like is.
