i had a prelude with a jdm type s REDTOP swap which puts out 220hp stock to the flywheel... it was not even close to the s2k also had an lsd and ran a 14.7 at the track and the s2k runs high 13s. now the h22 i had is the best h series motor they make. how can you say they are close?
Their are multiple stock internal H22 ludes in the 13's. With my mods on the H22, I should have been putting down about the same power to the WHEELS as a factory AP1. You'd be really surprised at what a tune will do to an H22, especially with the right parts. Due to my part selection, VTEC was set at 3900 and power didn't feel like it started dropping off untill 7200.
Oh yeah, the red top puts out 216ps(213hp), not 220hp.

keep in mind the weight factor, i would be willing to bet the s weighs less than a lude... even with less power a lighter car can sometimes still win.
But with the s its not so much about the HP's as long as you have a strong motor that breathes well pair that with driver skill you will put down some decent lap times on a track.

No I never ran it, sense the nearest drag strip is like 150 miles away. Don't want to brake something, so far away from home. But I've walked away from a mildly tuned eclipse GSX, up a hill at that.
Sorry woodburn, you're right. The redtop is 220ps(216hp) I was getting mixed up. Part selection and tuning, are key to brake into the 13's.
My lude is 2850 lbs with half a tank of gas. Besides aftermarket parts, the only weight reduction is a gutted trunk and Motegi Traklites.

Dynojet vs Dynolog dyno charts:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...T&f=1&t=530444
Based on that, it seems Dynologs read about 15-20hp lower than Dynojets. So, even with a 15-20hp correction, your output is still about 20hp too low.

Is the check engine light on? pull the code. Its probably knock sensor code.
We have dynoed over 30 S2000s on a Dynojet and they all do anywhere from 190-199 if they are AP1. 2 of them have dynoed in the 165 range and both times it was the knock sensor.
Its very easy to damage the knock sensor harness when removing the tranny to do the clutch.
If it is not that then try to find another dyno or find out what other cars put down on that dyno and see how it compares.
