Ap1 dyno low power
I have recently bought an Ap1 S200 and I am really worried because I have a dyno graph from the previous owner and it has shown just 163 whp. I`ve seen dynos in the forum and most of the s2k show about 190 whp. I have a sports filter without any heat shields and it gets hot air..
I'm fixing this problem very soon but anyway I dont think this should turn down 30 WHP !!! What do u think about it ? Where could be the problem ?
Here's the dyno :
Thanks !

hot air will rob serious hp.
I'll bet it is most of your problem.
I did tests years ago, doing 3rd gear roll on races with two s2ks, one with the lid on and one off.
Switch the lids back and forth, the car with the lid would always pull ahead...more than a car length in about 6 seconds.

different types of dyno's record different levels of hp, between the dyno make and your hot air issues that could be the difference when you compare numbers to a typical Dynojet graph you see on this site. You'd be better comparinig dyno numbers between s2k's on the machine you used. Perhaps ask your dyno operator what other stock s2k's may have put down on his machine.

Okay, I will definitely fix the problem with the hot air. I`ll put the original filter with its box, or I`ll make a good CAI so that it soaks fresh air.
But anyway dont u think 163 is really NOT what this car should show ? When I drive it its crazy, goes really well..
Where else should I look for a problem ?

If you're really worried its worthwhile getting a compression test, check the head gasket and cylinders, with particular attention to cylinder #4. Do you change oil regularly? Bad compression can be a result of oil starvation. Otherwise, quite a bit of the RWHP loss can be put down to heat-soak and different types of dynos.
