Ap1 cruising rpm?
Hello, I recently bought an ap1. The PO claimed that it has an ap2 transmission, which I'm not sure of since I've never driven an ap1. I've searched around but the answers I found were pretty inconsistent. So my question is, do I have an ap1 or ap2 transmission? My RPM in 6th going 70 is about 3,500 and my RPM going 80 is about 4,000. Wheels are stock ap1 205/55 front and 215/55 rear

75mph indicated is 4000rpm in an AP1. If you're taching 4500 at 75, you either have a slipping clutch or someone geared the car and adjusted the speedo input to compensate.
AP2 trans has a 2% taller 6th gear than AP1. So 4000rpm should be 76/77mph indicated. 80 indicated *should* be 4200rpm for you.

I'm aware of the incorrect tire sizes, I plan on getting wheels and bigger tires soon anyway. Thanks for the help guys. I think I do have an ap2 trans . My clutch is def not slipping, I think the speedo might be a little off because of the ap2 trans.

If all else fails, there is a vin number somewhere on the transmission, I believe it is on the top passenger side on the bell housing. But I'm not sure you can see it from the top without moving stuff (header, heatshield, etc).
