AP1 Clutch Release
When the car warms up and I am slowing & down shifting the shifter does not always want to "release" and allow me to down shift. This occurs in 3rd and 2nd gear. At about 5mph prior to a full stop you can feel the clutch release. No noise from pedal. Shifts fine while excellerating. Could it be the clutch slave? I would appreciate any comments, Thanks

Changed the tranny fluid lately? Have you checked the clutch fluid? I'm stuck at it's only happening in 2nd and 3rd unless it's an internal transmission issue. Did this just start?

Thanks for your reply. Owned this ap1, (yr2000) about 6mo's. First thing I did was change fluids with Honda fluids. Problem was there when I bought it, got a little better. Now back to the same. I took the slave off and did the clean/grease/&polish the rod end. will post if that helps. I'm thinking bleed system and check clutch master cyl next along with pedal travel. Guess if that does not get it I'm looking at internal pressure plate/clutch issue...Uch! Have not noticed any slip so hoping that is not the problem.

Cleaning & greasing the clutch slave did help. Think I will replace Master Cyl. and adjust pedal travel. Thanks again for your post. I have two of these cars but never messed with the other one as I bought it new in 07 but I'll sure know what to do with it when the time comes.
