hey all i have an 03 s2000 with a tick over 55k on it. as of late the clutch pedal has been having more and more free travel bfore engagement. as a not to scale ratio it feels like 4/5 freeplay in travel before engaging. its hard to put the car in first and really hard to get it in reverse. while normal driving it doesnt grind or slip or make any weird noise. is there an adjustment for this or is my ish just skunked? also, i took a quick peek into the clutch fluid resivoir and noticed it was low so i added fluid to bring it back to within the spec. that gave me no change in pedal.
Secondly, does anybody have any experience with the Gripforce/F1 clutches?

EDIT: so after looking at a couple threads, the clutch master cylinder comes up a bit... is this a likely cause?

I'd put $20 on it being the master cylinder. Did you check against the firewall for a drip?

not yet but thats the plan ill check when im on lunch if i can fit under the car or ill limp it into work and put it on the lift.

You don't need to get under it, just look at the base of the pedal inside the car.

when was the last time you flushed your clutch fluid...could be air in the system...but if the level was low, I would bet you have a leaky master or slave cylinder too...

yeah i noticed that once i took a look at my car. it was definitely wet and dirty around where the plunger rod thingy is. guess thats my culprit, huh?

Looks like I have grease blowing past my seal too.... Is this thing as easy to replace as a brake master cylinder?

looks to me like two bolts on the cylinder, the line and the linkage to the pedal and its in and out.

ordered one up from a local shop 96.00 plus tax

and just cancelled my order because this is covered under warranty lol
