To my knowledge, yes but I don't have complete history of the engines they were pulled from. I would imagine so, but I'll let someone else chime in on that.

Lol if you refer to the original post of this thread, that 'someone' was me. and yeah they're interchangeable within spec. I measured it out and fit them in, but ultimately went with an AP1 piston instead so never confirmed. If you think about it, the pistons themselves didn't change 01 to 02, but the piston rings changed. and 02-09 remained the same, so by the commutative property, the later style rings fit all pistons 00-09.
Well, thank you very much then, i will order the 04+ piston rings for my AP1

Hi,

Sorry for bumping this up, but a friend of mine is in the middle of a rebuild, engine is AP1 F20C2.

RWDLover, Did you finally install AP2 pistons rings (13011PCX024) on your AP1 F20C2 engine (that should use 13011PCX305) ? or anyone that can 100% confirm that 04-09 piston rings are compatible with prerestyling AP1 engines?

Thank you.

06+ piston rings should absolutely be used.
