Default Anyway to visually tell if CDV has been removed?

The previous owner said he had done it however reading some of the issues people had with the CDV make me think it could still be in there. The clutch comes out very easy, it holds fine during normal and semi aggresive driving but at redline 1 --> 2 and 4 --> 5 shifts it slips. I had read a couple threads that state this was happening to people until they removed their CDV.

I guess I could whip out the Helm and look into it myself but I'm lazy.

Look for wrench marks on the bolts that hold the slave cylinder to the transmission.

it will probably have lots of small scratches around the end where you would have to pull out the snap ring. Its a bitch so you can pretty much gaurentee it wouldn't have come out in one shot w/o a mark. also the brake fluid would probably wash away the blue paint on the bolt.

Considering its the pressure plate, and not the CDV, that prevents slip, even if the CDV is out, you'll still experience slip if the OEM pp is still in the car. The CDV regulates clutch engagement speed, not slip, so if the clutch feels like it engages quickly on normal shifts, its likely gone, but you'll continue to have slip untill you do something about the pp.

You can see this if you take the little rubber hat off and shine some light in there. Either lots of scrapes (soft aluminum) or a drill hole would be visible.

You may try bleeding your clutch one more time and/or changing out the fluid.

I just did an 05 and it had all kinds of nasty stuff in the clutch fluid reservoir.

The slave has blue paint on the bolt that comes off when it comes in contact with fluid.
