Anyone using BG Syncro Shift II in there tranny?
I was just wondering if this was OK to use in my transmission. It is BG Syncro Shift II Synthetic Gear Lubricant SAE 75w-80. API GL-4.

haven't heard of that fluid for a few years, that used to be a much sought after fluid for Honda transmissions in the old days. Is it really a 75w-80 ? , that might be a tad thick for the tranny, it might work in a hot climate such as yours though, I wouldn't want to use it in a cold climate. That is a high quality manual tranny fluid though. If you aren't getting good performance out of Honda MTF it might be worth trying to see if a thicker fluid helps your tranny, my first choice is always Honda MTF on a properly working tranny.

My tranny is properly working. I just had a few quarts of this lying around. I figured I could save a few bucks by using it instead of having to shell out money for Honda MTF. Providing it's ok to use in out tranny that is.

A lot of Evo guys swear by BG Syncroshift. Haven't heard of too many folks using it in the S though.
It is indeed a good fluid, but why not stick with Honda MTF? As others have said, it's cheap, it works well, and you generally can't go wrong with OEM.
