Default Anyone try BFG g-Force T/A KDWs?

Well, the rear Kumhos are on the wear indicator and I'm thinking of a 4 tire change rather than getting another set of Kumhos for the rear only (till the fronts are worn out). I'd probably dump the POS Kumho fronts cause they really suck.

I recently saw Tire Racks ad for a free G-Tech Pro with the purchase of 4 BFG tires. This got me thinking.......... not much to lose, I need the tires and if the BFGs are even a bit better than the kumhos I'd be OK with them since they're not too expensive.

They even have a tire size combo I've been thinking of trying: 215/50-16 and 245/45-16. Does anyone have any experiance with these tires?

Those are the exact same sizes I plan on getting once my Regamaster rims come in. Let me know what you find out.

My brother has those on his SVT Contour and says they are OK, with good wet and adequate dry traction, decent wear, and noisy warning at the limit. Better in the wet but not as good in the dry than the Goodyear F1's that came on the car.

Based on his comments I would say that they would be a reasonable street alternative on the S2000. Not as good as the S02

I really like my G-Force T/A KD tires... I rarely drive the car in the rain, so I have no concern for their poor wet traction. Their dry traction is very very good with very consistent/predictable limit adhesion...

Chris,

I won't use these for the track, so I'm not too concerned, the wet road holding is not a concern either since I never had trouble with the S-02s. (knock on wood)

Shaner,

I understnd the KDW and KD are different tires, though how different I have yet to find out. If I did get there, I'd have a G-Tech to test the difference between stock S-02s on our Silver '00, the BGF on the yellow '01. This owuld be an interesting comparison

Anyone else have experiance with these tires on the S2000?

Supposively, the KD are more for dry weather. The KDW are for dry/wet weather conditions.

I plan on getting these in a few weeks also...

I just got a set of tires this week from the Tire Rack. I saw that promotion after I had allready gotten mine, though (Potenza RE730's - 205 55 front and 245 45 rear). I am kindof glad I didn't see it now because these tires are great.

That is an impossible question for me to answer:

I drove my 100% stock Stook 2000 miles and 9 months ago...

My car has been highly modified with drivetrain + suspension modifications... including 18" wheels and the KD tires that are wider than stock.

The only way to compare (truly) is to drive two similarly equiped cars side-by-side with only wheel/tire differences...

Sorry.
