Anyone running Mobil 1 0W-40 in their S2000?

The "fix that isn't broken" statement is not squarely aimed at you, but I wonder why would anyone run 0w-40 in their S, or ANY car that normally would take 5w30, 10w-30, etc. under normal circumstances. I guess that is beyond me. If anyone could explain that to me, I'd love to hear it.
Also, if most people don't know what they are talking about as you stated, then they should stick to recommendations coming from those that DO know about these kinds of things, for example, Honda recommending 10w-30 for MOST situations.

for God's sake there's no need for a w40 oil. w30 is what it calls for and Honda has done thier research on this. They created the motor, so I would trust what they call for when it comes to a grade.

Regardless of what you use, engine temp, gas milage and intervals between rebuilds will all be the same. Choose a name brand and the recommended weight (Honda) .Now take a deep breath and relax.

Mobil 1 and Amsoil are the only two companies out there that produce a fully-synthetic motor oil. Others label theirs "synthetics" through some legal loophole, but aren't truly 100% synthetic like M1 + Amsoil. I'm gonna go with Amsoil 10w30 once I get the car.

i use Mobil 0W-40 or Castrol 5W-50. no problems. The temperatures can drop to -20C in the winter. If it doesn't drop that far where you live - no real need to use 0w oil. 5w-40 is more than sufficient, in fact it's recommended for euro cars by Honda.
