Default Anyone running GM Syncromesh FM

Hi S2K members,
I'm thinking about switching to GM Syncromesh FM Trans. fluid for my '06.

I heard that the this fluid might not be good with the AP2 trans. Is this true or false?

Oil guys please chime in. Any input would be great.

Thanks in advance.

i have an ap2 and the fluid's sitting in my garage waiting for me to use it...it's going in during my next oil change, along with my le-607 for the diff.

I just read another thread about this (I can't remember what it was called or I would link you to it) and they all liked it.

Come to think of it the post had to be in the Racing forum since it talked about how well it held up in a race environment.

I hate to say do a search since that turns up 670 posts with only 2 that are really pertinent, but it's worth a try.

I've used it in a Miata and an S. It is an immediate improvement. It is the only fluid change I have ever done in my life that I could see a practical instead of a theoretical improvement.

What part number is everyone using for the ap2 trans. I read the oil journals their is like 3-4 part number that RoadRage listed.

Please help, I'm doing my Trans. fluid change this weekend.

Why are people using a fluid with friction modifier in it? I've only seen it used in clutch-type lsds.
The FM breaks down the fluid faster then the same fluid without it.

just curious.

They aren't using it in the diff, they are using it in the transmission. The "smoothing" qualities do tend to go away after 10K miles or so from what I have read here. I am using Honda MTF so I cannot say but others can probably help here.
