Default Anyone regrind stock cams?

Ok Has anyone regrind there stock cams or modify there stock cams. Crowler (I think thats how ya spell it) offers this for the s2000. Just wondering if anyone has done this. Ya send them your stock cams and they regrind them or weld some of the lobes. Just curious...also wondering if this requires new valve springs, Thanks

cjb80 had regrinds if I am not mistaken. He did not like them very much...

I am sure you have to change the exhaust side springs if you get a new exhaust cam, but SnapOn makes a tool that allows you to keep the head on when changing valve springs.

You do not want regrinds or hard welded cams on a high tech 9000rpm engine especially when the stock cams are hollow. I just got my Toda cams and they're great the low end is much improved and the midrange kicks butt. Top end feels faster, but the big difference has been in low end and mid range. I just installed them 3 days ago so I haven't taken it to the track, but around town it pulls much stronger at lower rpms. Feels like a 2.2 liter!

Ahhhh thats why i love this site....thanks so much for the info fella's. Hmmmm The toda cams are sweet but The valve springs change seems like a real pain. Hmmmmm Don't have to pull the head...That would be most awesome....I'll have to check out that tool. Hmmmmm Teds2k..........Did you change the springs yourself....i am very handy Have done most thinks to the car myself and got like 50k of tools at my disposal....just wondering if i get new cams how much time to allow for the install....the cams are a snap 90 minutes with cig breaks and a beer or two....but the springs....never done a valve spring job..
ok thanks ....please all chime in Thanks in advance

I had Webcam regrind my cams. After about an hour of usage or so they were pitted on the tips of the lobes and groves were worn where the roller rockers were riding on them.

Greg, my mechanic said it was 4 hrs to do. The springs are a real bitch. TedS2K you noticed the exact same things I did when I installed the cams. But the car pulls strong entire way now, I hope you swapped out the springs.
