Hi,

I hear an occasional metallic spinning whirl noise when driving. Sometimes I hear it on the freeway while cruising.

But yesterday, I put the keys into the ignition, turned the keys, and heard the same loud whirl noise from the engine bay! I didn't even push the Engine Start button.

So I'm thinking is it a fan? Maybe I just need to grease something up.

Definitely one of the cooling fans. With the key off, go spin them by hand see whats hitting.

The metal clamp on my air pump tube was hitting at the bottom. Sounded horrible. Moved it back and below the fan shroud and it went away.

Thanks, is there only two cooling fans in the front of the engine bay? Radiator and A/C?
