Default Anyone here using camber kits?

watup guys

my car is lowered on tein flex's im guessing about 2" in the front and 1.5" in the back. it sits pretty low. i've gotten about 3 allignments since i lowered it (i have the lifetime allignment at Firestone). my rear tires seem to be wearing out evenly but the fronts are not doing so well. the insides are wearing out much faster. anyone here have any suggestions/solutions? (other than raising it back up!) if camber kits are the only solution, what brands are good and where can they be purchased? any info is greatly appreciated

You don't need camber kits for the S. You should be able to get OEM alignment after the drop. Make sure that the person at the shop gives you a print out of the settings and compare them to OEM specs.

Go to a different shop next time. Seems as if the person doing the alignment isn't doing it correctly. My car was slammed all the way down when I initially installed coilovers and I had no problem getting the front to oem spec. The rear camber was -2.0 however but that's only b/c of how low it was. He said that's the lowest it's physically able to be set to, however a few months later I needed my clutch replaced and Curt at C&C Northside motors got the rear to -1.8, so it just depends on the shops/workers skill level.

Get another alignment from another shop.

if you're socal, go to westend alignment, Darrin only does race/sportscars and is very familiar with the S2k. He's also reasonably priced. set an appt, he's always booked at least a week. You won't regret it

And?

Go to the shop that the other SoCal people are recommending you and then perhaps you could use your Firestone to maintain it afterwards once you know what a proper alignment is and will have proof of what it can be set to.

I know an alignment elsewhere will cost you additional money that you probably don't want to spend, but an alignment is a very critical thing and can easily ruin the driving experience if not done correctly.

understandable. Consider the cost of premature tire wear if you don't get the correct alignment. A new pair of tires will be at least $160. In the long run, you'll be saving more $$.

Edit: Just got off the phone with Darrin. the alignment will cost around $90. <-- totally worth it. MANY socal s2ki'ers go to him, and for good reason.

Like what Jawknee said, you can then have Firestone maintain the correct alignment FOR LIFE.
