I did mine a couple of weeks ago and this was fine, the only thing I'd add is to remove the knock sensor before trying to remove the starter bolt. As, like many before me, I broke mine and it cost me £175!
Hope this helps.

A lift is not absolutely necessary, however it will help you quite a bit. It is much easier to work on the car when you can stand upright, move around with ease, etc. You typically want to get the car as high as possible. I'm sure others can chime in with some tips and tricks.

I didn't remove my knock sensor and I pulled the tranny twice and never broke it. I pulled it both times laying on the ground with the car on jack stands. Its not fun by anymeans but its not terribly bad. I'm going to help my buddy do his here soon and he has access to a lift and I'm real excited about that because it will make it so much easier. I spent most of the time under the car laying there. There is not much you have to do above the car to drop the tranny.

Just did this recently... (after a shop didn't grease ANYTHING and my disk blew in traffic.
Not bad AT ALL.. if you do the prep work. It helps to have an idea of what you will be doing before you start doing it. Take your time, and one of the biggest waste of time is coming from under the car to get a tool you forgot.
Bribe a friend w/ beer and pizza.
Not bad at all, just make sure you have the time, tools, a general idea, and a friend.
And I cannot stress this point enough... READ READ READ before you start if you are an intermediate like I am.
I used the s2ka thread in addition to the one below, there are a ton of threads (e.x. specifically on how to loosen and lower the subframe) and even you tube videos that can help you along the way.

Clutch job isnt difficult, just time consuming. The only troubling part for me was removing the upper tranny bolts. Once I figured out the extension/swivel combination to use, it was easy.
