I have found the M1 alot cheaper as you can get a 5qt jug for around $22 at failmart. Amsoil costs me alot more, nearly 120 for a 12 quart case which equates to about 2 changes. I put in 5.5 qts and it usually burns .5qt within a 3k mile interval.

With different blackstone anaylsis I have seen and had, the Amsoil has had better readings for me in the end.

It may be overzealous and expensive, but its worth it to me to know that my car is getting that extra edge in protection and insurance.

Amsoil doesnt keep any secrets about their products and contents as where M1 is very secretive with alot of the questions asked @ Bobistheiolguy.com

you're spending too much. if you bought at amsoil.com or whatever the website is you could have walked away with 12 qts for a little less than $100 shipped.

If you're going to state this because there's no proof:

Then where is your proof that conventional or blended motor oil doesn't keep "the engine lubricated well and cleaner"? I have yet to see an S2000 owner using dino oil that has lubrication issues that you claim to be an issue.

You're just leaving us with your word on the matter.
Sorry for the unfounded claims. I would agree that AMSOIL is better oil.

I have read many TCT threads and never got a correlation to specific oil as the cause.

I am basically "claiming" that there is nothing wrong with Mobile1 other then it tends to have a little more consumption than other oils, but I will also claim that it is very driver/circumstance dependent. One persons hard driving is not necessarily the same as another’s. That's the main variable in all this.

I've run Mobil 1 in my AP1 for 5 years. I autocross it at 15-20 events per year. At most, I add 1/2-1 quart in 6k miles. FWIW, I varied the RPMs and did a lot of engine braking during the break-in.

^^bought my ap1 with 81k on it, previous owner said the ar only say mobil 1 10w-30 synthetic while he had it, my father has used it in his apthfinder (120kish miles running liek new) and his C5 when he had it

Ive been running the mobil 1 in my ap1 for 5k miles, i do notice burning, no cloud out the back though (that ive seen) and this is with varied driving, holding 6k rpms on the highway for a logn time to random gear pulls and just cruising, i do notice a oil burning smell after a while in vtec (no leaks)

Slipstream from what i understand holds oil tests? there is a sticky of his data somewhere here i cant find it, id love for someone to post it

IMO the TCT thing with mobil 1, i cant tell ya, so far my tct seems ok, people have been saying mobil 1 syn for our cars blows, some say they have no problems with burning like the poster above me.

I would like to know about the mobil 1 ext perf. and how.why it is better for our cars.

--Slipstream if you can shed some more light on this itd be GREATLY appriciated to myself and im sure the whole board haha.
