i don't know if it's that far...or if i would even test out to that mileage. but either way, i just put it in my gf's ap1 so i will be keeping an eye on it.

i know it'll last much longer than reg. m1 synthetic though. i'll update with some actual experience down the line when i have to change the oil again.
It's good for 10k plus but we are all ultra conservative around here. I use the maintanance minder which translates to 5-6k between changes. Maybe not necessary but comforting to know that the change came well before the oil absolutly "had" to be changed.

Sorry for the bump fellas, just noticed I'm burning off a significant amount of Mobil 1 Syn (not the EP) I'll be switching to Amsoil 10w30 this weekend though - found a place that has it in stock

The guy who owned the 03 before me used Mobile1, never got above 6-7000rpm (yes, hard to believe, buy I know it's true) and never burned oil. I bought the car at 65,000mi, run it to redline everyday, all day long, and burn about a quart every few thousand miles. For the few times I've stayed below 7000rpm for a few thousand miles, I've had no oil burning.

Since I had my S, I haven't really gone to 9k rpm. Wouldn't know what it feel like, but I mainly stay around 3-4k rpm and I'm still burning oil. I guess I'm going to try Castrol Edge since I heard good news on it.

It's an ap1....The ap1 in particular has an issue with oil collecting on the driver's side of the engine which pools into the PCV on hard right-hand turns. The oil that goes through the PCV is recirculated back into the intake which is then burned in the combustion cycle. Honda fixed this on the ap2's with proper drainage in the valve cover.

You will need an oil catch-can to contain the oil that escapes through the PCV so it doesn't burn in the combustion chambers. You will still have to keep an eye on the oil level but at least it won't be burning the oil, just catching it.
This is the best knowledge/advice I've heard so far about this.
