Modifry Dropped a plug on a Comptech SC'd car, at a track event. Honda9krpm broke his Vortech car at a hill climb under similar circumstances. Those are the only 2 failures that I have read about here.

Thanks slows2k...you bet me to it again
Brief story
I used halo spark plugs
Piston slapping due to scratches on ? 2nd cylinder
2nd spark plug tip was missing,
spark plugs were loosened especially on 2nd cylinder
Engine tuned with VAFC to AF of 12-12.5 on max dyno load....but only in 4th gear.
Hard drive to the coast on day of incident, exact location of damage is still unkown, hardest part was prob up the hill redlining 5 or may be vtecing 6th gear (with 4.44 final drive)
Engine inspected by reliable people (tuner, engine rebuilder and a personal mechanic) and sparkplug failure was blamed, no sign of detonation identified.
Personally it was slightly difficult for me to accept that the spark plug failure as the cause at the time. Until my friend had similar problem with his halo plugs on a bone stock engine a couple of weeks later. Howerver, he sustained no engine damage....or so we hope.
A couple of internet and keyboard warriors have disputed some of the above statement That's up to them, it does not bother me at all. A bit amusing to see so much supratentorial deficiencies and BS from the other members though
This is my toy car and I am aldready prepared for an engine rebuild once I started the engine mods. It's only a slight disappointment because I had so many chance to change these plugs after the V2 and this rebuild is sooner than expected.
Oh well part of the fun.
Small piece of advice; check your sparkplug tension everytime you service your car and listen to xviper

For those that don't know this goes back to a dispute between h9k and myself about the suitability of the V-AFC for tuning a supercharged S2000. I said that it's no good because of secondary effects of the MAP signal and he said that it was because his mates told him so.
Then his engine blew.
Whether or not this was a result of excessive heat in the combustion chamber due to lean conditions (not necessarily detonation, just lean conditions) is not definitive, but it's not unlikely. Regardless, it was fairly interesting after his vehement support of the VAFC.
I've been giving him stick ever since.
