Default Anybody have an SRS Inflator Simulator?

So, my SRS indicates I have a error code of 1-2 "Increased Resistance in Driver's Airbag Inflator"

Reading through the manual, this means I have a bad Driver's Airbag, bad Cable Reel, or bad SRS unit.

Trouble is, I need what Honda calls a "SRS Inflator Simulator (2ohm connector)" to test it. Does anybody have one I can borrow, or know of any workaround for it?

I know the car was in an accident and was a salvage before I bought it. But I don't know anything about the accident or why it was salvage (although it wasn't salvage for any fundamental frame damage). I don't know if the airbags went off or not, but I do know that the passenger side airbag cover is a slightly different tint of blue than the rest of the dash. (although the error code is for driver's side).

The error is intermittent, as defined by the manual, which is says to ignore. However, the error has returned 4 times. It take a few weeks for it to return.

Advice?

Anybody with a SRS Inflator Simulator or know of a workaround?

Thanks all.

It just a basic 2ohm resistor, shouldn't be hard to find from an electronics supplier.

You may be able to use a paper clip to turn the light off. I did this back in the day when the srs light was on in my cl type s.

Understood, but in my case, something is "wrong' as the light keeps returning. I've tried 4 times to turn it off.

Given that airbags have saved my life/or at lest serious injury, three times, I want to make sure my system is operating properly.

True, and getting one is easy enough. And I'm competent with a soldering iron.

However, I'm assuming its not just wired up in series with whatever you are plugging it into. Because the unit has 3 inputs. So, are they in series, parallel, are the inputs connected together?

I"m sure the connections inside the unit are super simple, but, what are those connections? If anybody can provide me with a schematic or wiring diagram, I'll make one myself.

Anybody?

The airbag has just a 2 pin input, putting in a 2ohm resistor there instead should keep the error light off, unless the problem is somewhere else between the airbag and the unit.
Check the troubleshooting guide in WSM, there is a schematic in there.

Ok, sounds easy enough.

Whats WSM though?

Work Shop Manual
You should be able to find and download it in pdf format if you search some on the forum or on google.
Here is a small on line version, check page 35 http://issuu.com/onderhoud/docs/hond...rvice_manual03
