ANYBODY ever try to JET HOT COAT exhaust piping
So I just had a thought, and I might totally off. But has anybody thought about JET HOT COATING the exhaust piping (Mainly for exhaust that don't offer SS piping, Or Even those that do).
I'v seen people heat wrap their exhaust piping, wouldn't this be the same thing?
Wouldn't this help increase the exhaust velocity........(look at me trying to use big words)?
It Can't hurt to keep the exhaust piping cooler, Right? Wouldn't it be the same priciple as coating the Headers?

I would doubt the the cost/benefit ratio would be very favorable. Coating my header was $165. Also the real benefits from JetHot coating the header are when both the inside and outside are coated. On an entire exhaust, that could be difficult.

I agree that coating the whole exhaust is not cost effective. This is more for Turbo applications where it is beneficial to keep the heat constant between shifts, especially in the exhaust manifold and down pipe. You also kill two birds with one stone as you don't want the heat to escape on other parts near the engine, noting that the down pipe goes very close to the oil pan. Hot oil = bad

The jet coat header is a Comptech, the wrapped header is a Megan.
Jet coat was $125.00 for prep and coating inside and out. The wrap on the Megan coast me to do about $50.00 bucks, the wrap on the exhaust (JIC Magic) another $100.00. I also used a high temp black silicone spray on the Megan header as well as all the wrap to prevent any rust from starting and to help keep the wrap from rotting. The spray is very similar to spray paint.
I now have a T1R 70RR exhaust that I also wrapped too
I used two types of wrap, one was 1/16" thick and the other was 1/8" thick. The thick stuff is hard to work with but, is a lot better at sound deeding. The thin stuff (regular) is good for going round the tight header tubes were you don

That looks like a lot of work. I just wanted to JET HOT Coat it.
Did he paint over the Heatwrap?

I did my invidia from a drone suppression angle, that is why there are multilayers. The side effects beside reducing drone are better pipe flow and no heating of the center console.
