any way to get rid of RPM dip with AC on?
So Ive been in Phoenix about a week now, and the temps here have been 110+ so Ive been using my AC all the time, now when I dont have the AC my car idles fine, doesnt dip below. But with my AC on the RPMs seem to want to dip to 300rpms and the car will want to stall out...Ill let it do its thing to try and correct itself but after a week its still doing it
Is this just an inevitable thing that the car will do especially in this heat? Ive tried the MAP whack and Im going to clean my IAC but I don't think cleaning the IAC will help since I have no problems with the AC off.

My 2002 doesn't do that. I barely notice when the compressor kicks in at idle. I think your IAC cleaning idea's good. Maybe take off the throttle body and clean out the idle passages as well.

I was just reading about a "idle learning mode" for the ecu. It's a procedure you do to teach the ECU the characteristic of the idle. It involves warming the engine up then, turning off all electrical loads then letting it sittle idling for at least 5 minutes. You can't count the time the fans are running if they come on.
I'd read about it in the shop manual. Might be worth trying it out.

you know what section I could look for it in the shop manual?
NM, found it, 11-100
1. Make sure all electrical items (A/C, audio, rear defogger, lights) are turned off.
2. Start the engine. Hold engine speed at 3,000 RPM with no load (neutral) until the radiator fan comes on, or the ECT reaches 176F-212F.
3. Let the engine idle for 5 minutes with the throttle closed and all electrical items off.
Ill try this when I clean my IAC valve tomorrow.
