Any Reason NOT To use Quick Change Oil Valve?
#21
There was a post where someone had a cone lodge against the valve during an autocross which caused the valve to open. I think failure is unlikely, but it is possible and worth at least considering!

Not a fan at all. nothing beats the reliability of a drain plug.
The fumoto valve also leaves a good amount of oil in the pan. Try it. Drain with the valve, then unscrew the valve and watch how much oil comes out.
ANY valve can get lodged with debris, and leak. Likely explains why every one I see is damp with oil.
You guys may have good luck with them but I advise against them.

Ah yes, forgot about the magnetic drain plug benefit Ikeyballz mentioned. Hey at my age I check for blood every time I wipe my ass, it's just as reassuring to see a clean drain plug.

The "severe maintenance schedule" in a 13 year old manual?
Because (let me guess) you drive the car hard.... right?
It spends every rev it makes from a start between 6k and 9k rpm and you're on the trottle or on the brakes.... right?
On public roads... right?
The right oil can do 20k miles / year without any problem.
Driving 20k miles a year means you drive it every (work) day, and not just down the block.
Drive less a year, use the right oil and you can still do yearly changes.
No problems at all.
Its 2012.

There is so little iron in our motors would a magnetic plug be worth using?
