Any problem with fuel pump?

Default Any problem with fuel pump?

Its been five years and counting and i'm the second owner. Don't know if the previous owner change it. Is it about time for me to change my fuel pump and filter. My car has been misfiring and blogging for the past two weeks just wandering if its my fuel pump. Any help is thanx ahead.

By the way car is pretty much stock and has 57000 miles on it.

You are throwing $$$ away to replace a part without verifying it is the problem.

Yeah you cant assume its the pump, and most likely its not. You need to have someone diagnose it first. There are alot of other components that will cause the problem your having.

Just started my car this morning and check engine came on while on the road. I stopped by a local autozone and plug it up. The code came out as P170 (Bank 1) fuel trim malfunction/p172 too rich. I understand that honda s2000 automatically kicks in to safemode and shoots more gas if there is something wrong with the a/f mixture(p172). But what in the world is the P170 code. I look just about everywhere for that ecu troubleshoot code but can't find what it is. Is it the fuel pump going badd. Any response is thank ahead of time.
