Default Any DIY timing chain replacement how-to's out there?

I've searched and searched and I've not been able to find a DIY guide on replacing the timing chain. I downloaded the service manual and it describes removing the cylinder head but I also read a couple posts here and there where members on here did the job without removing the head.

Can anybody help me out with a few pointers?

I have heard you can change the chain by pulling the timing chain cover and droppping the oil pan. You need to remove the TCT I believe before you mess with the chain and guides. Only thing I don't understand is how you get the chain over the main cam gear on the head. Hopefully someone here can help you out! Good luck with it!!!

x1 if you use the manual to do what Billman has listed, you'll be done in no time. Good luck

when you pull off the cam wheel be careful NOT to drop any small parts(washers/races) in that small compartment.
