Another "Brake light wont go off" post
I am currently sifting through google trying to find an answer but I seem to be reading the same things. So my issue is that my brake light stays on the whole time.
1. Filled the MC
2. Checked the fuses
3. Checked for leaks
4. Checked the e-brake switch(light stays on whether its plugged in or not)
5. Checked the MC switch/plugs(light stays on whether its plugged in or not)
6. Soft top stopped working a couple days ago as well(e-brake up or down)
I'd like to blame this on the float but if it was the float then my switches/plugs should be working. Im thinking it could be in the wiring itself but I really dont know what i'd be looking for even if I do trace the wires. I recently had a remote start/alarm installed as well and the soft top was working prior to that, now it doesnt work but not entirely sure that would cause it to stop working. Both windows work properly and all other electronics work properly. Would the "speed sensor bypass" mod help me @ all with the soft top issue?
Help.

Maybe it could be this? But when the soft top was working I had to have the e-brake up.
"Grounding the green/white wire will cause the 'BRAKE' light on your gauge cluster to come on, and your top will operate.."

The key here is likely the alarm work. Hard to say without knowing exactly what they did. But guessing they ran wires I would pull the center console and reseat the top control connector as a start.....

ok so I figured out the alarm starter ground was replaced so its just the ground plug thats not connected(was looking @ wrong plug initially). But I still cant seem to figure out the brake light on the dash. Other than tracing wires is there anything else i can do?
