I'm not so sure you can call them "so JDM". "Power bulge" hoods have been around Detroit iron since the middle of last century.

thats a weird thing to say viper when you think about it. Middle of the last century, haven't heard it put that way in awhile. Kinda makes us all feel old... good job

The engine was tilted to lower the center of mass and improve handling. I read this in a technical aritcle presented at the 2000 ??? Society of Automotive Engineers conference.
