when i had my Civic Si, I had a CF hood with a vent, but the aerodynamics at speed really prevented water from entering unless i was sitting still...i dont think it would be a problem unless the water dumped straight over the alternator, i mean there are a lot of engines with hood scoops and they are factory so i dont see why a non-induction type vent would cause a problem. go for it.

I havent had any problems with mine in the rain yet. The only thing is i have a comptech intake and the top of the air box cover has a hole in it. So i wraped plastic over the top of the intake so water couldnt get in the air box.

I don't think it'd be too much of a problem. Now I appreciate my Top Secret Hood more though, it has carbon-fiber rain catches. Keeps rain from gettin in there and it's cool cuz it's CF.

water falls right on my stock intake box w/ my amuse style hood, but if i ever get a CAI im afraid i will make the engine bay really wet by rain or washing...without the stock intake box water will fall right onto the pullies,belts.. is that ok?
