The Ti grade using in the making of these exhaust, is very thin. It is also contamiated and of a low grade. This is why it cracked so easy. Proof of this can be seen in the color changes from the heat exsposure. The impurities in the Ti are causing oxidation.
that's a damn shame, considering how expensive this exhaust is. my desire for the Amuse exhaust just dropped dramatically.

i was not expecting this from a company like amuse...
Yup more than anything I'm pissed that I paid $2000 for supposely the "best" exhaust and this shit happens. I expect this from a $100 Tio Pepe Muffler Shop's custom pipe and muffler but not Amuse.

I'm still a big believer in Amuse and I hope Amuse/Bulletproof will step up to the plate and correct this situation to my satisfaction.

In the meantime, I'm trying to find a Ti welder or muffler shop that works on Ti in the SoFL area, so if anyone knows of someone please post their contact info here or PM me. Thanks.

This is the primary reason I kept this to myself. I bought the exhaust used by way of Canada, so I had no hope of a waranty repair. Also I really did not look at the thing as well as I should have when I installed it. Maybe next time. So I thought it might be limited to just me. I had never heard of this happening before. Well there was a local that had an issue as well with his single. So it may be more common then we thought. I just did not want to cry wolf. We see that too much.

Personally I loved the exaust. I liked the sound very much. It was the leak and rattle that got me to pull it off. My plan was to fix it and then reinstall it. Once it was off the car, I had several offers on it. So I sold it. One of these days, I will buy an Amuse Single. That is what I really wanted from the get go.

Just remember, the thing that the welder said about the metal, are the same reasons the exhaust is what it is. Thin gauge = Low weight, Contamiation = Turn blue. Both things we like. I only commented to share, since he has seen far more then I have.

Same thing happened on my JIC Titanium exhaust. When it happened, JIC gave me a brand new replacement. Hopefully amuse will do the same.

highly doubt it. you can't directly contact amuse really, you have to go through bulletproof.

I agree, i was extremely lucky for JIC to be so forgiving enough to give me a brand new replacement. Very unlike JIC to do something like that, based off of what i read on this forum.

Bulletproof is supposed to contact Amuse Japan to see what they can do. I'll know more on Monday after they speak to Amuse.

Huh? Used? I brought mine brand new in January 2004 from Bulletproof. I don't buy used mods.
