Default Amsoil OE

So I've done a search on the forums, and I noticed that everybody likes to use the Signature Series Amsoil Oil.
I am curious about my situation if it warrants the use of the Signature Series. As I understand the difference with
the Signature Series is just longer interval oil changes. I will put less than 10000 miles on the car in the year,
I am going to follow the severe maintenance schedule following the time (6months) rather than miles driven for oil/filter change.

Will do autocross 10 + events and up to 2 x HPDE in a year. Seems like XL or OE would fit that bill. Or is there something in Signature Series
I'm not aware of...like better wear protection? Just searched , and I guess s2ki member states the Signature Series is full synthetic compared to the XL or the OE.

all I use is XL change it every 5k anyway. when I switched to Amsoil the engine actually ran quieter. I'm a big fan of the stuff.
until I tried amsoil I felt all synthetics where the same

Everybody likes to use the Signature Series Amsoil Oil? Really? I'm embarrassed I missed that fact. I don't use anything labeled "Amsoil" in any of my cars. Nor do I see any need to.

Someone needs a nap!

Anyway, the price difference is pretty small and if you're tracking the car, why would you not put in the best?

Why not go for the best is right!

Amsoil won't hurt anything but there's no consensus it's "the best" anything other than, perhaps, advertising. Oops, that's Mobil 1.

Yeah, I missed my nap but the statement that "everyone likes to use" something just triggered my (typical) knee-jerk reaction. "Some like to use" would have slipped right by me with no need to comment.

The signature series line boosts the anti-wear additive package over their other lines. Most of the signature series oils have a nice mix of moly, phos., zinc, and boron, and it is a true group 4 synthetic. It does provide for longer drains but it is a better built oil from what I've seen. I think the XL line is mostly a group 3 oil, but it is still very good. I never really cared about long drains but I do like beefier additive packages where possible, and synthetic oils also flow better at lower temps.

I'm a Red Line fan, but I have used Amsoil quite a bit in the past and I do like it as well. I also think Mobil1 is a great oil when it comes to synthetics, plus a couple other over the counter brands.

I know some ppl that swear by AMSOIL. It certainly won't hurt to use it, except the pocketbook.

Brad Penn is a good oil, a lot of the muscle guys love it on flat tappet valvetrains as it has a good dose of zinc. Some engines really need it. Not so great on a setup that runs an oem cat as high zinc can be bad for the cat, but it is a good oil.
