The S2000's suspension is designed and set up to be extremely tight...and therefore...more sensitive...hence the vehicle is more apt to bump out of alignment. Most vehicles require a wheel alignment every 6,000 miles or so to keep them within tolerance. However, the S2000 having a tighter suspension will probably need more attention than most vehicles. I would recommend having an alignment done at every oil change to be on the safe side.

No, they don't. Plenty of vehicles out there that had an alignment once before rolling off of the factory floor and never had one since... still rolling true. It depends on how you treat the vehicle, i.e., don't run full-force into a curb and expect it to run straight.

And this would be a complete waste of money... the only time I have my alignment done is when I change parameters, components, or hit a huge-ass pothole at speed and it throws things off. There is zero benefit to getting an alignment done if the alignment hasn't changed, and the alignment won't change on its own...

I'll file this with the advice that taking a bath in bleach purifies your skin I don't think the S needs an alignment any more or any less than any other car. However it's completely obvious when it's knocked out of spec unlike a lot of other cars.

It was 4 years before my S had its first alignment... and that was done only because I dropped it an inch after installing Buddy Clubs. If a car is treated properly, there really is no reason to ever get an alignment.

I've never had any alignment issues. Usually when I go to get a new one the specs are exactly as they were when I got the alignment.

I think the most I've ever had anything change was about .2 on either caster or camber, I forget which.

So with each new alignment I'm usually just trying some new specs to see what a difference it makes.

Anytime you hit a pothole/rough road the alignment WILL be thrown off. You cant make a generalization and say you "never need it" again...

There are lots of times when you cant avoid such roads in hawaii..

owned my S for 9 years and just brought it in for her first allignment from a local S allignment guru,... he said car was very close to stock.....

if your running into giants pot holes or running over anything that shudders the car it will knock the allighment off.
