Alternator issue?

Battery voltage will not tell you the state of the battery, just the voltage of the battery surface charge which will show 12.7v after just a few minutes on a charger. Battery voltage sitting for 24 hours probably shows very low compared to just after a jump start.
Battery load test meter is $20 or drive to AutoZone and they'll test it for you. I'm betting the battery is toast. Mine was 12 months ago. They had one in stock.

thanks for the input. So even if battery is showing full charge, it can still be a bad battery? I will swing by Autozone later and get the load tested

It still sounds like a bad battery issue to me... I don't really trust the people behind the counter doing the tests... Are you not even getting any clicks from the starter while jump starting?

You can check the resistance between the negative terminal of the battery and the chassis and engine ground points, with a DVM. Esp the grounding points by the alternator, starter, and starter relay. If you are getting more than a few ohms (DC), you prolly have a bad and/or dirty connection. Clean and tighten may do the trick.

Quick update: Problem Solved.
Apparently the people behind the counter at Autozone did not do a proper load test. I went to two Autozones which both told me the battery is good. I was not convinced so my buddy and i did a load test on the battery ourselves and that was the issue. We even swapped batteries and my car started without any issue. Took the battery for a replacement at Autozone since it was under warranty. They tested it and said the same thing about it being a good battery. Told them they are testing it wrong and that its a defective battery. They didnt want to argue and just swapped it. Car up and running again.
Thanks everyone for the input

Thats exactly why I originally said I wouldn't trust those guys behind the counter. I'm sure that it would've failed a simple load test as Billman suggested by turning on the headlights.
