Alternator Charging Issue
A few years back I had an issue when the car died like the alternator stopped working while I was driving. I replaced the alternator with 2 more and the car still wouldn't charge. I also noticed the battery light on the cluster would not come on. I checked and replaced the bulb, it still didn't work. So it was recommended to have the alternator converted to a single wire, and I did and it charged the car without the green plug in the back of the alternator plugged in. Now that Im going through my car trying to re do some things and fix issues this is something id like to tackle and repair. I have a good alternator on the shelf to test and swap too however, what could have caused this issue? Is there a fuse or relay somewhere I could have missed or a possible wiring issue? Any ideas Im sure its something not completing a circuit to cue the battery light to illuminate and thus cue the charging system to charge as required.
Thanks
