$50k is the base model, but you can finance and open a business then depreciate it over 10 years.

My buddy and I were quoted $100K for a 4wd setup (to do Evos and stuff).

Back on topic - the reason I love the S2000 is because of its naturally aspirated drivetrain. For me, the easy route is turbo/super-charging (even if they are very effective).

For those of you with all-motor mods, what specific items other than intake/exhaust/header has been the most beneficial? Where is the biggest opportunity for power gains?

I would love to keep my S2K NA, but that turbo bug keeps itching...

I don't have any mods yet, but I'd like to see someone try the following:

Toda SpecB or SpecC cams
Toda pistons (sanded to 12:1CR)

I know many ppl don't run the bigger Toda cams due to the need for bigger valve reliefs and Toda pistons having a pump-gas-unfriendly 13:1 CR, but if you sand the top down to 12:1, you should be able to run pump gas w/ tuning (standalone). It'd be nice to see if this setup would make considerably more power than the SpecAs.

All of these peak HP figures could just as easily be the same friggin' car on different dynos! What's the point?

Actually, IIRC, the Toda pistons are only 11.something to 1 compression if you stick with the stock rods & crankshaft. They only bump the compression up to 12.7:1 if you use Toda's stroker kit.

But, if you're going through the trouble to replace pistons on an NA application, you might as well replace the crankshaft & rods, right?

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing the pistons were 12.7:1 or 13:1CR by themselves...this was in a Japanese mag. Even w/ the Toda stroker crank and rods installed, the piston height at TDC should remain as stock (the reason for the new rods w/ a stroker kit). If it really is 11.x CR, that'd be even easier to do!...wish I had money to try it...or someone who does would.

"Piston height" is probably the same, but piston travel (with the stroker crank) is further, thus higher compression ratio. The Toda web page states that the CR is 12.7:1 with the stroker kit installed. I can't find the reference where I saw the 11.x:1 number with the stock crank & rods. I thought it was on the Toda page somewhere, but I don't know where. I'm pretty sure it was either 11.5 or 11.7, but not 100%.
