Air Pump removal=check engine light, anyway around the CEL?

I did this and it did not resolve the problem. I am getting a weird JDM-related CEL code (nothing in our manuals to describe such code). I believe the ECU is looking for something that is not present on the USDM cars - as opposed to the European and JDM vehicles.
I believe Chris from Science of Speed had this problem as well.
