Air Pump, P0411 code and CEL
My air pump has now come on a few times after the car has been running for some time. This evening while getting off the freeway it ran. Everytime it runs after the motor is warmed up, the car throws a P0411 code.
Do I have a bad air pump?
Thoughts?
I'm debating doing a pump delete so I don't have to deal with it in the future.
04 w/ 104K
Regular service
Everything else works well
No modifications

OEM vacuum hoses? A small crack in the end of one will do it. I have an '04 and I'm replacing all my vacuum lines this weekend. I'm not certain what pump you are referring to as coming on? According to the Honda Service Manual the P0411 is a vacuum issue, with a worst case being the ECM.

Aside from a relay failure what drives the pump to remain on?

Contactor Assembly/Air Pump Relay:
P/N 39794-PCX-023, H/C 8452989
Try a new air pump relay, see how it goes.

I would at least unplug the air pump until i found out the actual cause before the air pump burn up.
