why did you take it out?

I didn't see any reason to keep it and it's in the way of my brake ducting. It's also at least five pounds off the car.

What difference did you find with the engine after removing the assembly?

There is no performance change by removing the air pump. Only EMS users, or those with JDM performance ECU's can do this and not get a CEL.

Removing the system is not an option for stock PCM/ECu equipped cars.
