Default air guide question

I have a spoon type intake and totally removed the air guide ... Should I replace with an aftermarket version - i.e.: airstuffer, coastal metal, etc. W/o the guide, will the coolant temps increase.

I know I could simply cut the stock guide and replace, but that thing is such a pain to re-install.

Thanks,
- J

You should reinstall it. Turbo-pwr says he had the guide off and on in the summer and it makes a big difference. Cut it first and stick it back in there. It will be much easier than the first time since it is now smaller. You could get a J's plate and cut it to fit or 4IGS's new carbing plate that will be modified for Spoon type intakes.
